UV-C light helps protect against Covid 19 Pandemic.

Safe Storage Facilities

We are taking extra steps to keep our storage spaces safe during the Covid 19 Pandemic.

We have introduced a new UV-C light system into  our storage unit which together with chemical deep-cleaning procedures and social distancing methods gives as much protection as possible.

UV- C Light is effective at maintaining a level of disinfection that regular chemical cleaning cannot achieve alone.

Typically, fifteen minutes of exposure is all it takes in a small to medium space to work. UV-C radiation is invisible to the human eye in the wavelength between 200 – 280 nano-meters (nm), with a wavelength of 270nm found to be particularly effective against virus’s and bacteria, as it breaks down the DNA of micro-organisms and makes them harmless.

However, the light at this wavelength and resultant ozone is also harmful to people and pets and should not operate when storage spaces are in use (blue UV light is added to the spectrum of light so you know when it is on).

We operate our UV-C cleansing during the night on a timed circuit, so the system is completely safe and offers our visitors and clients a safe and clean environment the next day.

We will clearly show when the system is operating – at which times you should NOT enter the storage units. But the system is only on for a short time so it should cause very little inconvenience.

We’re pleased to support Birmingham Brewing Company

Birmingham Brewing Company was established in November 2016 with the aim of providing high quality, locally brewed beer to the Birmingham area.

We believe that the only way to make great beer is to use the best ingredients we can find, we use water from the Welsh Mountains, traditional British floor malted Barley and the freshest hops we can get our hands on.

The result of this and our focus on quality means that we create distinctive beers and flavours for all to enjoy.

Quality of Beer – Cans keep out light and oxygen, both of which can cause off flavours in beer, light causes a chemical reaction with hop oils altering their flavour and aroma. Exposure to oxygen not only makes beer go off faster, it it also dulls the flavour and strips the hoppy flavours and aromas from the beer too.

The Environment – Cans are 100% recyclable, so all parts of the can are reusable, reducing the impact of Birmingham Brewing Company, and its customers on the planet. Cans are also lighter than bottles, meaning more can be transported in one go and the costs of transporting each can are lower as they need less fuel to be moved.
